Trial set to begin for man accused of killing grandmother

LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

The murder trial for a Limestone County man accused of killing his own grandmother is scheduled to begin Monday.

James Pigg is accused of killing his grandmother, Barbara Delaney, in March 2012.

Authorities said Pigg hit Delaney in the head several times with a hammer and then shot her.

According to deputies, Delaney served her grandson with an eviction notice a week before the murder.
