HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The United Way of Madison County held a big celebration for a big milestone Saturday.

In celebration of their 70th year, the event at Big Spring Park featured free food and lots of activities for kids, including games and the ever-popular moon bounce.

"Generally, we do a luncheon, but this year we decided to do something a little different," said Wendy Kirk, President of the United Way of Madison County. "We wanted to honor our partners, those who are out there doing work in the community, and we wanted to showcase them by having a fun day in the park."

Over the past 70 years, the United Way has given $77 million to the community. The organization will soon kick off their annual fundraising campaign.
