ATHENS, AL (WAFF) -

A judge has denied youthful offender status for a 20-year-old Tennessee man accused of shooting a motorcyclist about a year ago.

Noah McGlawn of Whiteville, Tenn., allegedly shot Brandon Matlock, 23, of Athens on Sept. 10, 2012.

Matlock was riding his motorcycle on U.S. 72 in Athens when he was shot.

Police said McGlawn told them he was angry at his father and "just wanted to shoot someone."

McGlawn is charged with attempted murder.
