Decatur officer resigns following arrest on drug charges

Good Friday evening and TGIF!

We continuing to follow the arrest of a Decatur police officer. Timothy Hughes was arrested, then resigned, for buying and using prescription medication. The shock of a person hired to uphold the law charged with breaking the law is reverberating across the River City. WAFF 48's Shumuriel Ratliff will have more reaction from Decatur police, as well as the community they serve.

We're also continuing to follow the details of a bank robbery we first told you about on WAFF 48 News earlier this evening. Huntsville police are looking for a man they say held up the Compass Bank at Governor's Drive and Whitesburg Drive this afternoon. We'll give you another look at the surveillance photo of the man police are looking for tonight.

Also, week two of the high school football season brings an interesting situation at Cullman High School. The Bearcats hosted East Limestone tonight, one week after a Cullman assistant coach and the head coach of Walker High School were involved in a post-game fight in Jasper. Both schools were placed on probation by the State High School Athletic Association. Our cameras will be in Cullman and a number of other high school stadiums all across the Tennessee Valley tonight with another edition of Friday Night Fever.

We'll see you tonight at 10.
