Former assistant police chief arrested for writing bad checks

BRIDGEPORT, AL (WAFF) - A former Bridgeport assistant police chief finds himself in more trouble.

Already under investigation for selling his service weapon, Gregory Potter bonded out of jail Thursday morning after being arrested for writing bad checks.

The state Ethics Commission referred his case of selling his service weapon to the Jackson County district attorney's office for prosecution.
