MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

The Cardinal Rose Organic Country Store near Albertville scored an 83 with the Marshall County Health Department. It's located in the Sims. The owner said they've never been on the health department's reinspection schedule before, and they don't plan to be on it again.

Jeanie Severtson said she's found a nice niche in her seven years running Cardinal Rose.

"I serve all gluten and wheat free lunches every day, and I have a gluten and wheat free bakery," she said.

Severtson added she looks forward to their reinspection, and vows to earn a higher score.

"I'm just going to fix it, of course. Just repair what needs to be repaired, and fix what needs to be fixed," she said.

The health inspector reported equipment that comes into contact with food needed cleaned. Specifically, the slicer, cookie cutters and vegetable choppers.

The inspector reported one other critical violation, for unlabeled cleaner bottles stored beside and over clean utensils.

The Subway on Nick Davis Road in Harvest scored an 84 during their previous inspection, but made a large improvement during their reinspection, scoring a 94.
