DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

A Mobile County man was convicted of robbery Thursday, bringing to a close a string of holdups that took place four years ago in Decatur, Madison, Huntsville and elsewhere around the state.

A Morgan County jury found Harold James Brown of Prichard guilty of four counts of first-degree robbery. Circuit Judge Steve Haddock scheduled his sentencing for Nov. 12. Brown is in the Morgan County Jail.

Other defendants in the case already pleaded guilty and received four life sentences and one 20-year sentence.

They committed six robberies in Decatur, two in Madison, two in Huntsville, one in Oxford and one in Saraland from August to November 2009.

The robbers held up employees of restaurants and convenience stores as they went to make bank deposits.
