"Rally in the Alley" donation kickoff details on WSFA 12 News 4, 5 and 6

The River Region United Way is partnering with EMERGE Montgomery for the 5th Annual Rally in the Alley! This partnership is the kickoff for the start of the 2013 United Way Campaign and also serves as a volunteer drive for agencies affiliate agencies.

Twenty agencies affiliated with United Way will be there to promote volunteer opportunities with their organizations.

This event is happening today from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at The Alley in Downtown Montgomery. It is free and open to the public.

The event is free and open to the public. Anyone bringing donations of bath towels or personal hygiene items will receive a free Rally in the Alley t-shirt.

WSFA 12 News will be covering this event. Make sure to tune into WSFA 12 News at 4:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. for all the latest details.

    Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.

    The Guntersville Police Department have released news details on a double shooting late Friday afternoon that left one man dead.

    The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m., when police from multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a 911 call reporting two people had been shot on Edmonds Road.
