AUBURN – The Auburn Tigers held a two-hour workout in full pads Tuesday afternoon at the Auburn Athletics Complex practice fields in preparation for Saturday's contest hosting Arkansas State.
Coach Gus Malzahn, who was head coach of the Red Wolves last season, knows what to expect from Arkansas State. "They are one of the hottest teams in college football. They know how to win, and they expect to win. Offensively, they have a lot of playmakers that can make big plays either in space or with the deep ball. Defensively they have a lot of playmakers, too. They have a lot of experience back on both sides of the football. The bottom line is that we have to play better than we did on Saturday to beat them."
Auburn returns to the practice field Wednesday afternoon. The Tigers host Arkansas State Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium in a 6:30 p.m. CT contest that will be televised by FSN. Tickets still remain for that contest. The 1988 SEC championship team will be honored on Saturday.
