Police seek help identifying thief in jewelry heist

FRANKLIN, TN (WAFF) -

Police in Franklin, Tennessee are asking for help identifying a man in a jewelry heist.

Investigators said the man placed more than $7,400 worth of jewelry in his jacket pockets at Belk on Galleria Boulevard on August 27.

He left the store without paying for the items. Police said he left in a white or silver minivan.

Investigators said they believe he committed the same crime at a Belk store in Decatur, Alabama later the same day. Decatur Police said he got away with about $8,000 worth of jewelry from that store.

Anyone who recognizes this man can submit an anonymous tip to police by texting the keyword 615FPD, along with the tip, to 847411.
