HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A gunman is still on the loose after a failed holdup at a Huntsville restaurant Monday morning.

Police said the man went in the back door of Beauregard's around 9:30 a.m. and held an employee at gunpoint. The restaurant is in a shopping center on Airport Road.

According to authorities, the man wore gloves and had his face covered. Investigators said he demanded the safe be opened but none of the employees knew the combination. Officers said the man then fled.

"We're going to review video tapes and other evidence we gathered at the scene, but at this point we don't have enough for a suspect description to give out," said Huntsville police Sgt. Clay Warmbrod.

No one was injured.

Investigators are working to determine what was taken in the robbery. They brought in K-9 units to search for the offender.
