Huntsville Utilities customers to see 3% reduction on power bills

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Local electric customers could see lower power bills next month thanks to a reduction in TVA fuel costs.

According to Huntsville Utilities, its customers may have a reduction of a little more than 3 percent on their September bills. The TVA said this week it was lowering the monthly Fuel Cost Adjustment for September. A Fuel Cost Adjustment is a variable energy rate that can fluctuate as TVA's fuel and purchased power costs rise and fall.

For Huntsville Utilities customers who use 1,400 kWh or electricity, their power bill will be $118.57 next month, compared to $122.33 this month.

Cloud cover has been persistent through the morning, but those clouds should start breaking up this afternoon. While we have been slow to warm under cloudy skies, highs should still push into the mid-70s with more sunshine late. ?
