Montgomery Public School Superintendent Barbara Thompson speaks with WSFA 12 News.
Montgomery Public School System Superintendent Barbara Thompson sat down to speak exclusively with WSFA 12 News about her growing frustration with the state's investigation of her system's grade changing case.
Thompson's interview aired on WSFA 12 News at 10 on Thursday.
Thompson spoke with us this morning and wanted to clarify some points from her exclusive interview with us. She says the investigation was isolated to only 3 out of 55 schools in the district. She says Assistant Superintendent Louis Washington was terminated, before the investigation was completed, for other reasons. Also former Sidney Lanier Principal Micheal Gibbs' removal was effective this school year.
Also in her letter to the state Thompson recommended that the state revoke the teaching certificates of anyone who was found to have changed grades. Instead the state did not revoke any teaching certificates and told the Superintendent to handle discipline administratively.
