FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -

The Florence teenager accused of stabbing another teen at a party wants her murder trial delayed.

Autumn Wood is charged with the murder of 14-year-old Brooklyn Hollins. Investigators say Wood stabbed Hollins during a party in March 2012.

Wood was 17 at the time of the crime. She applied for youthful offender status, but a judge denied that request.

Wood's trial is scheduled for September 23rd.

Her attorney filed a motion for a trial delay stating he needs more time to determine Wood's mental status at the time of the stabbing. A judge has not ruled on that motion.
