Husband, wife arrested on drug charges

A Town Creek husband and wife were arrested on drug charges Sunday. A Town Creek husband and wife were arrested on drug charges Sunday.
TOWN CREEK, AL (WAFF) -

A Town Creek couple was arrested Sunday at their home on drug charges, including chemical endangerment of a child.

According to Police Chief Jerry Garrett, Morris Chadwick Halbrooks and Fallon Michelle Steward of Streater Street were charged with manufacture of a controlled substance, chemical endangerment of a child, felony possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Garrett said the couple was allegedly preparing the meth in the house but cooked it outside. He said one plastic bag of finished meth was in the home. The arrests were around noon Sunday.

Town Creek police and the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department took part in the raid.
