Morgan Co. man sues Sheriff for wrongful arrest

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

A Morgan County man is suing the sheriff and deputies claiming he was wrongfully arrested during a drug bust two years ago.

Timothy Richard Brown filed a lawsuit in district court against Morgan County Sheriff Ana Franklin and three deputies.

The arrest came in May 2011 during a roundup of people who were suspected of purchasing more than the legal limit of pseudoephedrine.

An arrest warrant was issued for Timothy Wayne Brown of Danville but the deputies arrested Timothy Richard Brown. Later, Timothy Wayne Brown was arrested.

Brown is seeking unspecified monetary damages and relief.
