HPD officer's database record; UAH web worry; Cell thief caught on tape

Good Wednesday evening and happy Hump Day.

We're continuing to follow up on the case of a Huntsville Police officer who was arrested for domestic violence over the weekend. WAFF 48's Nick Lough has been digging deeper into this story all day long to find out why the HPD officer, Jacob Askins, isn't listed on the Huntsville/Madison County Metro Jail's database. We'll have more on what we've learned at 10.

We're also investigating a situation involving UAHuntsville's school newspaper. The paper's web address has been taken over by a clothing company that sells lingerie. WAFF 48's Shumuriel Ratliff will have the latest details on this investigation.

And we also have your chance to pocket up to a thousand dollars in my weekly WAFF 48 Crime Stoppers report. We'll show you an man who stopped at a convenience store to buy a beer, and was caught on surveillance tape stealing the owner's cell phone. It's your chance to make some easy money.

We hope you'll join us for these stories and more on the Valley's #1 source for 10 p.m. news: WAFF 48.

We'll see you at 10.
