Roads flooded after storms move through Shoals area

A Flash Flood Warning was issued for parts of the Shoals Wednesday afternoon.

The warning covered portions of Colbert and Lauderdale Counties.

Doppler radar estimated more than 2" of rain in the afternoon hours between Florence and Cherokee. 

Several areas of Cherokee were flooded, including side roads off of Highway 72 and on Daniel Highway. Old Lee Highway and North Pike also had flooding over roadways.

According to Florence Police, weather caused power failures in areas of throughout the city, especially on Florence Boulevard. Authorities reminded drivers to use caution when traveling through the area.
