FLORENCE -- Bobby Wallace decided to extend the University of North Alabama's Tuesday practice to give newcomers a chance to get some extra work and several managed to impress the Lions' head coach.
"We wanted to get a better look at some of our young guys and I think it went well," Wallace said. "On defense, I thought Bud Coleman, Philbert Martial and Levi Fell did a good job. On offense, Laurence Carmichael, Jess Cooper and Tyler Boyd all showed that they can help us."
The Lions completed a week of practice and will convert to a routine of 3 p.m. practices with the start of classes on Wednesday.
"I think it will be good for us to get into a routine, and with an early practice this morning and a practice tomorrow afternoon, the'll have a little time to recover and be ready to go."
Wallace said the Lions would go in shells at Wednesday's practice.
