UNA Holds Two Practices on Monday

FLORENCE, Ala. -- The University of North Alabama football team went through its only two-a-day of the fall Monday as the Lions worked out in full pads in the morning and went out in shorts in the afternoon.

UNA head coach Bobby Wallace said the players are beginning to show some mental and physical fatigue after seven practices

"We've got to push a little harder because it's getting a little monotonous," Wallace said. "Maybe we're thinking too much, but we need more energy."

The Lions will practice Tuesday morning before starting their regular afternoon practices Wednesday when classes begin.

Wallace said the Lions have players with a variety of bumps and bruises but he stressed that none of the injuries are serious.

Freshman cornerback Philbert Martial has caught Wallace's eye. The former McGill-Toolen standout is being used as the fifth defensive back is some of the nickle packages. Martial could also be used as a kick returner.
