SECTION, AL (WAFF) -

A DeKalb County town could soon offer service for more reliable water supply, but the project is raising an eyebrow with some residents.

The town of Section held a groundbreaking for a new wastewater treatment facility Monday afternoon.

Officials said it will be a boost for economic development, but it is raising an eyebrow with some residents.

A groundbreaking this afternoon as officials announced today the construction on the more than $4 million wastewater treatment facility.

The more than $4 million project will allow about 100 residents to tie on the new system, $2.4 million is a low interest loan to the town and another $1.7 million will be in the form of a grant to make it happen.

The facility will replace septic tanks for many residents.

"Those of us who have a good septic tank system that we're pleased with i don't think we be made to go on it. I think it should be a choice of each citizen if they want to be on the system or not for a town as a whole I think it would be good," said Section resident, Brenda Fossett.

The project also includes a new water tank in Langston to better supply people in Section with water.

The project is expected to be completed in about a year.
