DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

Kids had time for one last bash before schools in Decatur go back in session. The city's Back to School Jam took place Friday.

Students were treated to fun, food and entertainment. The main goal of the event is to give students notebooks, book bags, pencils and other supplies they need to start the school year off right.

"We have to help each other out. We have to make sure to get a good education. Without supplies, books, and things like that, we can't get a good education," said Jocelyn Covington with Decatur Youth Services.

This was the 17 th year Decatur has held the Back to School Jam. Officials with Decatur Youth Services said to check with them on Monday to see if there are any extra school supplies.
