BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Many viewers have contacted our newsroom with questions about packages that may have been on the plane.

Many received the same message our newsroom did when checking on pacakges. We had six packages on the plane and received an email alert that said, "transportation accident occurred - all merchandise discarded."

UPS spokesperson Laurie Mallis tells us UPS will be notifying all customers.

However if you have a tracking number for a package you think might have been on the flight... Just go to ups.com, click on the "tracking" button and type in the number.

If your package was on the flight you will get the same message we did: "transportation accident occured." You should then call 1-800-PICK-UPS for more information.
