HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Huntsville Police have made an arrest in a Tuesday morning bank robbery.

Investigators said 40-year-old Adam El-Amin went inside Regions Bank at 4003 University Drive saying he had a gun, and demanded cash. They said he didn't actually have a gun with him, and he left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A witness called police and gave a description of the getaway car, a silver Lexus 300.

Officers caught up with the suspect a few minutes after the robbery near the intersection of University Drive and Memorial Parkway and arrested him.

Huntsville Police said they are turning over the investigation to the FBI, which is customary for any bank robbery.

El-Amin was booked into the Metro Jail. His bond has not been set.
