HPD Investigating A Late Night Shooting

Imagine walking out of your door this morning and seeing apartments and a car covered with bullet holes. Http://bit.ly/16MUODi That's what some people will see this morning at the Westlake Apartments in Huntsville. Witnesses we talked with say several people started shooting at each other there around 11:00 last night. WAFF 48's Christine Pae is live at HPD headquarters this morning. She'll update you on what officers are tracking right now.

We also have video from a house fire overnight in Meridianville. That fire broke out around 3:00 on Patterson Lane. Fortunately, the woman who lives there got out okay.

There's also a voluntary FDA recall to let you know about this morning. It has to do with some products used to inject drugs. They're from a Texas-based company called Specialty Compounding. Lauren Morrison has been poring through all of the information the last few hours. She'll break it down for you.

And Jeff has all kinds of cool tools to break down the weather for you. I can sum it up in one word this morning: muggy. Here's another word for you: rain. You know it's coming. Jeff's tracking it for you with Storm Tracker Doppler Radar. Remember, you can always check it out here all day http://bit.ly/uDu9dU

My sons start school today. I'll post some pictures in a few hours on my WAFF 48 Facebook fan page http://on.fb.me/1bEJ7mT and Twitter feed http://bit.ly/M5Fp5h. If your children are headed back to school this week, send us some pictures to pix@waff.com. And if they start next week, get those cameras ready, and enjoy this last week off.

And in the meantime, turn on WAFF 48 News Today and join us this morning. We're on right now!
