Huntsville shootings leave 1 dead, 2 injured; How gun laws affect school campuses

New details are emerging about two men who were shot this afternoon in West Huntsville. 31-year-old Genoris Smith and 22-year-old Charlie Harris were shot on Bonnell Drive. Police say it was the result of an attempted robbery. One of the men stumbled against a mail truck and collapsed in the street. We'll tell you what else police have learned.

There are still many questions tonight surrounding an officer-involved shooting this morning. That shooting happened near Mountain View Mobile Homes on Slaughter Road in Huntsville. A man was killed after exchanging gunfire with police. Tonight, the officer is on leave. We'll explain how it all unfolded.

And it's been a little more than a week since new gun laws went into effect in Alabama. The law makes taking a gun in some places, including on some company property, legal. But what does the law mean for Alabama's schools? Tonight, Shumuriel Ratliff finds how one local school superintendent plans to address the new law.
