DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Sheriff's deputies arrested three people on drug charges after a traffic stop in DeKalb County.

Authorities stopped a truck on County Road 192 near the location of a recent drug arrest. Two people inside the truck had active warrants and were arrested.

After searching the truck, deputies discovered drugs and drug paraphernalia, including syringes and scales.

James Hester, 45 of Gadsden, Josh Anderson, 30 of Crossville, and Brittany Sherman, 21 of Albertville, were charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

All three were placed in the DeKalb County Detention Center awaiting bonds. Crossville Police Department helped in the arrests.

"Our deputies are watching the areas where drug activity has been discovered and are doing a good job of getting these people off the street. It is a constant job to work these areas and still answer calls and do their job everyday but they are being effective. The local Police departments are always a great help in this type cases. They are over backup most of the time until we get another officer on scene. We appreciate all the help we can get from the public and local law enforcement," said Sheriff Jimmy Harris.
