New law allows gun owners to keep weapons locked in vehicles; Company claims to help gun owners

Good Thursday evening. Here are a few of the stories we're hard at work on for WAFF 48 News at 10.

We're continuing to explore a new gun law that went into effect today in Alabama. The law allows licensed gun owners to keep weapons locked in their vehicles while they're at work. WAFF 48's Shumuriel Ratliff spoke with some gun owners about the new law today to get their take, and there is one aspect that's troubling to some of them.

Our special assignment tonight deals with the protection of homeowners with guns who have shot people breaking into their homes. WAFF 48's Jim Abath spoke with one company that claims to help with any legal issues, counseling and clean-up.

And we'll also have more on a community effort in Albertville to help needy school children get the supplies they need as they head back to school.

We hope to see you tonight at 10!
