MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Madison County inspector reported food temperature problems on the buffet line at India Café in Airport Road in Huntsville. The restaurant scored an 83 during their recent inspection.

The inspector reported several vegetable dishes on the buffet, including veg korma and fried eggplant, were held between 99 and 126 degrees Fahrenheit, below the 135 degree minimum temperature required to prevent bacterial growth in hot-holding foods.

The inspector also noted that some cold-holding food items on the buffet and in a reach-in cooler were held above the maximum 41 degree temperature.

Food held at the wrong temperature is in the food danger zone, as is pre-cooked food that is not re-heated up to 165 degrees, The inspector reported that also happened at India Cafe.

Louie's Restaurant at the Garden Plaza Hotel on 6th Avenue in Decatur scored an 81. The health inspector discovered roaches in a fridge that was not being used anymore, and they the took off points for a dirty can opener.
