Tractor-trailer wreck in front of Scottsboro H.S.

SCOTTSBORO, AL (WAFF) -

Emergency crews responded to a wreck involving a tractor-trailer in front of the Scottsboro High School.

Scottsboro Police said the wreck happened on Highway 72 around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. According to authorities, a tractor-trailer rig was stopped in the westbound lane, and a box truck traveling west ran into the parked truck.

Officers said the passengers inside the box truck were entrapped. Rescue workers were able to get them out of the vehicle. Both passengers were airlifted to the hospital.

Authorities have not yet released the names of those involved in the wreck.
