Woman wanted in Hartselle gas station shooting in custody

HARTSELLE, AL (WAFF) - The woman wanted in connection with the morning shooting at a Hartselle gas station is in custody, police say.

Investigators said a tip led them to a home on County Road 1078 in Vinemont where they took Amanda Westmoreland Engle into custody without incident.

Hartselle Police said she left the shooting scene at the Exxon on Highway 31 in a vehicle that was recovered in a field about one mile away from the home where she was found.

Police say a man was shot in the shoulder early Wednesday morning after an argument. He underwent surgery Wednesday morning at Huntsville Hospital.

Engle is being held in the Hartselle City Jail for first degree theft related to the car.
