MORGAN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A new tool is now available to help children found in homes with meth labs.

Morgan County Sheriff Ana Franklin saw a need for a specialized trailer where children found in meth houses can be decontaminated. She talked with the Rock Creek Volunteer Fire Department about the issue.

The fire department built a trailer with donated lumber and money. They hope it will be a help in comforting the kids.

"What's going on at that time is unsettling for them, and we try to help them," said Tony Taylor, Chief of Rock Creek VFD. "We just keep them calm, and let them forget what's going on outside with the rest of their family."

The trailer has a sink for washing babies, a shower with warm water for older kids, clean clothes, and toys.
