Police say a 26-year-old mom loses her child, while high on alcohol and drugs.

Elyria Police Officers say Heather Zimmer took her one-year-old son out for a walk in his stroller Wednesday night.

A witness saw Zimmer drinking alcohol and says she was also possibly high on heroin.

Zimmer then passed out in front of a building. When she woke up Thursday morning, she had no idea where the baby was.

While looking for the child, Officers discovered that Zimmer had left the baby with a woman named Tracy Guest.

Guest tells police she had not seen Zimmer in 10 years, but Zimmer showed up Wednesday evening and asked her to watch the child and said she would be right back.
Guest fell asleep awaiting for Zimmer.

Zimmer is now being held at Lorain County Jail on child endangering and child neglect charges.

The little boy is fine and now staying with his grandma.
