Alabama set to execute prisoner today

Good Morning!

This is what we're working on in the WAFF Newsroom today:

Alabama is set to execute a prisoner for the first time in nearly two years. Andrew Lackey of Huntsville killed 80 year old Charles Newman in Limestone County in 2005. This morning we take a look at the case that landed the killer on death row.

We are also keeping an eye on Washington this morning. The House will consider the Senate's latest proposal to lower student loan rates. The Senate passed its version yesterday, with Democrats and Republicans reaching a compromise.

And the question almost everyone is asking this morning, "Can I leave my umbrella at home today?" Well it looks like we'll have a short break from the rain, but it could return by the weeks end. Jeff Castle will break down your forecast every 10 minutes this morning.

Stop in and join us before heading out for your day.
