HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Huntsville activists are trying to teach young men how not to become embroiled in situations that would lead to violence among people in positions of authority.

At Calhoun Community College this Saturday, the Huntsville chapter of 100 Black Men of America will hold a discussion about race relations and the law, covering how young black men should respond if approached and confronted by police or safety officials.

The event comes after neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman was found not guilty of murder charges for shooting teenager Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman said Martin attacked him, after observing Martin acting suspiciously in his neighborhood.

The event starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 27th at Calhoun College.
