Sheriff educates public on new gun law; Growing controversy from property in Madison Co.

Good Tuesday evening.

Here are a few of the stories we're following for WAFF 48 News at 10.

Alabama's new gun law goes into effect August 1st. Among other things, it will allow gun owners to keep their guns locked inside their vehicles while they're at work. WAFF 48's Shumuriel Ratliff reports tonight on one sheriff's effort to educate the public on what the new law entails.

We're following the latest details of an elderly man who was killed in a wreck when he collided with another vehicle driven by an unlicensed minor. WAFF 48's Sarah Navoy talks exclusively to family members of the victim.

And we're investigating complaints of snakes and rats coming from property in Madison County. As we first told you earlier this evening, the overgrown weeds are taller than mailboxes in the Blake Station subdivision. We'll have more tonight on this growing controversy.

We hope to see you at 10!
