ALBERTVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A problem in a cemetery has forced one city to call in a special company to deal with a leak at a mausoleum.

The city of Albertville discovered the leak a couple weeks ago at the city's Memory Hill Cemetery and thought they had it taken care of but are now needing specialized help.

Officials said they believe it's isolated to a single casket inside the mausoleum. City crews have continued to come out and clean up the leaks when they happen.

Mayor Tracy Honea said it's an unusual problem and they are having to find out what they can and cannot do to deal with the leak.

Honea said it's possible the right kind of casket was not used when the body was placed in the mausoleum. But right now, they're having problems trying to find the person's relatives. Honea said the people who buried the person were distant family members, and some of them have died since the funeral.

Honea said they've gotten in touch with a company in the Carolinas to come and resolve the problem. He hopes they will be able to come as soon as possible.
