DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

A woman was jailed after a man was stabbed during an armed robbery.

Decatur police responded to a stabbing call in the area of Central Parkway and Pride Lane around 8:30 p.m. Friday.

When they arrived on the scene, they found a man who had been stabbed in the leg. He was transported to the Decatur Morgan Hospital for treatment.

At the same time, officers responded to a robbery call of two women on Lenwood Road. There, they found the two women in a car with a damaged window.

Billie Corum, 29, told officers that they had been robbed by a Hispanic man on Central Parkway. The stabbing victim was a Hispanic male, but when a translator talked with him at the hospital, he had a much different story.

The investigation revealed that the man was the real victim of a robbery, and he had been stabbed trying to get out of the car. He broke the car window while trying to escape. He identified Corum as the person who stabbed him while she was trying to take his wallet.

Police charged Corum with first degree robbery. The victim is expected to recover from his injuries.
