DOUGLAS, AL (WAFF) -

It was an emotional night for everyone who knew Ryan Lawson, but also a chance to remember him. Lawson was one of four teenagers killed in a tragic accident outside of Guntersville on Sunday.

"They don't make too many people like Ryan," said Matt Ross. "He'd take the shirt off his back for you. He was living life to the fullest. He had a great time."

No matter who you talked to, one thing was very clear: Ryan Lawson was much more than a football star, more than a high school graduate, and so much more than a 19-year-old kid.

Nearly everyone called Ryan a friend.

More than 100 people came out to honor Ryan. Every balloon released into the early evening sky represented a memory of a boy who touched an entire community with his smile.

Candles were lit around the number he wore proudly on Friday nights. There was a moment of silence interrupted only by the sound of falling tears.

It was a circle of never-ending love for a football star, a graduate, and a friend to the town of Douglas.
