Memorial for crash victim; recap of a violent week in Huntsville; praying for peace after Martin verdict

Good Friday evening and a happy weekend to you!

A memorial service was held tonight for 19-year-old Ryan Lawson. He is one of four people killed in an accident outside of Guntersville Sunday night. Tonight we take you to the emotional ceremony where he is remembered lovingly by family and friends.

It has been a violent and bloody week in Huntsville. The recent killings this week have a lot of people concerned, chief among them Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle. Tonight, Battle reacts to the most recent crime wave. Hear why he says he stands behind the work HPD is doing to make sure this recent spike is an anomaly.

And we'll take you to a prayer vigil in the Valley. Church members and people from the community gathered to pray for peace in the wake of the Trayvon Martin verdict. See the example they hope to set for the rest of the nation, coming up tonight.

Join us tonight for WAFF 48 News at 10.

I'll see you then!
