Hearing date set for motion to drop UAH provost from suit

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A former UAH provost named in a wrongful death lawsuit connected to the UAH shootings could find out in September if his name is dropped from the suit.

The September 13 hearing is for Dr. Vistasp Karbhari. He was Provost for the university in 2010 when Amy Bishop Anderson shot and killed three co-workers and injured three others during a faculty meeting.

Two of the victims' families filed the civil suit naming Bishop Anderson, her husband, the former university president, and Karbhari.

Karbhari has since taken on a new position as the President of the University of Texas at Arlington.
