TBI: Suspect steals items meant for needy families

LINCOLN COUNTY, TN (WAFF) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a Lincoln County man for stealing items meant for needy families from his employer, Human Resources Agency.

Robert Vann Dupree, 47, of Elora, Tennessee, was arrested Monday on two warrants charging him with theft and burglary.

Investigators said Dupree charged his employer's fuel card for personal use while working for the South Central Human Resources Agency in Fayetteville. They said he also broke into the agency's facility in January, got a set of master keys, went into several offices and took household items that had been donated by area businesses. The items were intended to be given to families in need.

Dupree also served as a member of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department posse, a reserved deputy program.

He was booked into the Lincoln County Jail on $1,330 bond.
