Posted: Updated:

A man awaiting trial for the death of his girlfriend admitted to stabbing her, court documents show.

According to documents, Homajean Grisham admitted to stabbing Jessica Broadfoot while driving his truck June 28.

The documents go on to state that the stabbing started on North Pike in Colbert County and that Grisham admitted to pulling off the road near the Natchez Trace Parkway overpass, where he continued to attack her inside the truck.

Grisham claimed Broadfoot died in the truck and that he kept the body inside the cab as he drove out to his father's property on Fossick Lane, where he dumped the body. The documents state investigators found the murder weapon, a fixed-blade knife, next to the victim's body.

Grisham has requested a preliminary hearing in this case. A date for that hearing has not yet been set.
