Family of hit-and-run victim speaks out; Grissom principal to retire this month

Good Tuesday evening,

We continue to follow the hit-and-run that happened in Madison early Monday morning. As a bicyclist continues to recover from his injuries suffered while riding to the Wal-Mart on Madison Boulevard, his family is reacting to an arrest less than 24 hours after the incident. WAFF 48's Sarah Navoy will have the full story tonight at 10.

We're also continuing to follow the heart-stopping experience of a Madison County family involved in an overnight home invasion. Two people have been arrested so far, with Madison County law enforcement saying there's more to come. WAFF 48's Shumuriel Ratliff spoke to the homeowner. We'll have more details on that, tonight.

Plus, one of the nation's longest-serving public school principals is retiring. Tom Drake, who's been the principal at Huntsville's Grissom High School since 2000, and has spent 47 years as a public administrator, has announced his retirement. WAFF 48's Charles Molineaux will have more on Drake's incredibly long tenure tonight at 10.

We hope you'll join us on WAFF 48 News at 10.

See you then!
