Arrest made in Madison hit-and-run

MADISON, AL (WAFF) -

Madison Police made an arrest in the Monday morning hit-and-run where a 20-year-old bicyclist was injured.

Bethany Paige Schrimsher, 26, of Madison County, was arrested overnight and charged with felony leaving the scene of an accident.

The victim, Richard Claus II, 20, was seriously injured when the maroon Toyota Camry hit him while he was riding his bike on Madison Boulevard near Flagstone Drive around 3:30 a.m. Monday.

Claus suffered cuts and bruises, and was taken to Huntsville Hospital where he was listed in serious condition at last check.

Schrimsher was booked into the Madison County Jail on a $2,500 bond.

Madison Police continue to investigate.
