TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

An East Texas man has been charged with manslaughter just two weeks after his girlfriend died after an incident near the city bus station in Tyler.

According to Tyler police, on June 19 just after 5:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to the railroad tracks near North Bois D'Arc Avenue in Tyler. When they arrived, they found 28-year-old Michelle Ingram had struck her head on the railroad tracks as she and her boyfriend, 22-year-old Rickey Cox, were walking down the tracks.

Ingram was pronounced dead on June 21 and an autopsy was ordered. On Thursday, police investigators charged Cox in the death of his girlfriend.

Don Martin, the public information officer at the Tyler Police Department, said that the injury was caused by a physical altercation.

Bond for Cox has been set at $50,000.
