Birmingham soldier killed in Afghanistan

BIRMINGHAM , AL (WAFF) -

The Department of Defense announced on Friday the death of an Alabama soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

Private Errol D.A. Milliard, 18, of Birmingham died July 4 in Farah Province, Afghanistan.

The Defense Department said he died of his injuries after enemy forces attacked his unit with a rocket-propelled grenade.

Millard was assigned to the 2nd Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade, White Sands Missile Range, N.M.
