BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Birmingham police announced today they've arrested two suspects in the slaying of 17-year-old twins Jonathan and Jeremie Berry.

Police say the Berry twins were murdered at their home late Friday night when a group of three men showed up, ransacked the home and fatally shot the boys.

The suspects also shot the twins' mother when she arrived at their home. Family members say she is paralyzed from the waist down from the injury.

Sgt. Johnny Williams with BPD says police arrested a male suspect and a female suspect at two different locations on Tuesday, July 2.

The male suspect is identified as Stanley Chatman, a 26-year-old from Birmingham. He is charged with two counts of capital murder and one count of attempted murder.

Chatman has a lengthy criminal history and has been charged with murder before. He was charged with murder in 2005, but later convicted of a lesser charge of manslaughter in that case. He served prison time for that crime until his release in November 2012.

In March 2013, Chatman was charged with murder in the death of 31-year-old Derrick King. His case for that murder charge is now going before the grand jury to determine if he will be indicted.

The female suspect arrested in connection to the Berry twins' murder is Crystal Nelson, a 21-year-old from Birmingham. She is charged with two counts of felony murder.

Both suspects are currently in the Birmingham City Jail and are waiting to be transported to the Jefferson County Jail.

Chatman is being held on no bond for the capital murder charges. Nelson is being held on a bond totaling $1 million for the felony murder charges.

Police believe more suspects involved in the twins' shooting are on the loose. They are pleading with the family and community members to come forward with more information.

Anyone with information about the case is urged to call the Birmingham Police Department at 205-254-1764 or leave a tip anonymously through the Crime Stoppers phone line, 205-254-7777.

The funeral for the Berry boys has been set for Saturday, July 6 at 12 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Brighton.

The family has also set up a fund at Wells Fargo in the teens' memory called the Berry Twins Foundation. Part of the money donated to the fund will be used to help with the funeral costs.
