MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Horton woman was arrested and charged with theft of property and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Marshall County sheriff's investigators said 37-year-old Valina Gaye Jackson prepared a tax return for a friend and routed the refund to her own home.

Investigators said the refund was in the form of a debit card from the Internal Revenue Service, rather than a check. The card with the refund of more than $5,800 on it was activated and used.

Jackson was booked into the Marshall County Jail and her bond was set at $50,000.
