HARVEST, AL (WAFF) -

A McDonald's in Harvest was robbed early Tuesday morning. The restaurant is located on Highway 53 near Jeff Road, right by the Publix shopping area.

Madison County sheriff's deputies said two employees were cleaning up for the night sometime before 2 a.m. When one employee was outside, a masked man approached, pulled out a gun, and forced the employee back inside.

Authorities reported that the robber ordered the employees to open a safe and then escaped on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. K-9 units tracked the offender heading north, but they lost his scent.

Investigators are still looking into this robbery.
